By accessing and using ClassNotes, or by registering as a contributor, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.
2. Access Requirements
Access to ClassNotes — including viewing, downloading, or uploading notes — requires a registered account. Uploading notes additionally requires administrative verification of your account. We reserve the right to grant or revoke access at our discretion.
3. User-Generated Content
ClassNotes now allows verified users ("Contributors") to upload educational materials directly to the Service.
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You verify that your uploads do not violate any laws or third-party rights.
- License Grant: By uploading notes, you grant ClassNotes a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content for educational purposes.
- Ownership: You retain ownership of your original work. Uploading to ClassNotes does not transfer copyright to us.
- Communications: By registering, you agree to receive service-related emails (e.g., verification status updates). You may also receive occasional promotional emails from us, from which you can opt out at any time.
4. Prohibited Content
You agree not to upload:
- Content that you do not own or have permission to share (e.g., copyrighted textbooks).
- Content that contains malware, viruses, or harmful scripts.
- Content that is offensive, defamatory, or unrelated to the educational purpose of the site.
5. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your upload privileges at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. This includes revoking your "Verified" status.
6. Disclaimer of Liability
The Service is provided "AS IS". ClassNotes acts as a neutral host for user content. We do not actively review every upload for accuracy or copyright status prior to publication.
7. Takedown Procedure
If you believe your copyrighted work has been uploaded without permission, please refer to our Takedown Policy. We will remove infringing content promptly upon valid notice.
8. Termination of Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
